Do I Need to Bring Medical Records?
Do I Need to Bring Medical Records?
NO. Although medical records are not required, KindHealth suggests you bring them to your visit as the added documentation often helps us evaluate your marijuana qualifying conditions. The decision to approve you for medical cannabis rests solely with our doctor, so if you have seen a physician in the past for your condition, it may help to have your records for the same-day doctor’s approval. We have a medical release form to request records from your doctor’s office, if necessary.
Bringing your health history helps us for the following reasons:
- Continuity of Care: Medical records provide a comprehensive history of a patient's health. They ensure that patient care is consistent and informed by past treatments and diagnoses.
- Accurate Diagnosis: The patient's medical history may offer insight into their health issues. It helps doctors make accurate diagnoses and choose the most effective treatments.
- One of the most significant benefits of having access to a patient's medical history is the prevention of medical errors. It allows doctors to avoid prescribing medications that could interact negatively with other treatments the patient is receiving, ensuring your safety and protection. Legal Protection: Medical records can be legal documentation of the care provided. They are essential in defending healthcare providers in cases of malpractice allegations.
- Efficiency: Medical records save valuable time. They allow healthcare providers to quickly understand patients' medical backgrounds without redundant tests or procedures.
- Chronic Conditions: Records can help patients with chronic conditions track the progress of the disease and the effectiveness of ongoing treatments.
Medical records are an essential backbone of patient care. They enable doctors to provide the best possible treatment while ensuring patient safety and legal compliance. Always keep your medical records updated and bring them to your medical appointments.
