State Card Renewal
- How Soon can I start to Renew Medical Marijuana Card Florida?
You can start the card renewal process 45 days before it expires. If your card expires before the renewal is processed, you won't be able to purchase MMJ until your renewal is approved and you receive your new card. We recommend you start the renewal process at least 45 days before your card's expiration date to avoid any lapse in eligibility.
You can renew your state card online through the Medical Marijuana Use Registry by logging into your account, updating your details, supplying a photo, providing proof of residency, and paying the required fees. Alternatively, you can renew by mail by completing the renewal form, including a passport-style photo, proof of residency, and the renewal fee. We recommend you renew your card promptly to avoid any lapse in your eligibility for MMJ treatment.
- How Long does it take to process?
Once you've submitted your renewal form, it typically takes 5-10 business days for the Office of Medical Marijuana Use (OMMU) to process it. After approval, your new card will arrive by mail within 2-3 weeks.
Doctor's prescription:
It is critical to remember that the card and prescription must be valid to continue buying medicine. Patients can renew their prescriptions up to one month before they expire after the 210-day period. We recommend getting the new expiration date from your physician, making a note of it, and setting your calendar accordingly. You can switch your doctor for a card renewal if need be.
