Natural CBD Oil. Nature’s Cure. What it Is and How to Get It

The wonder of natural CBD oil. Nature’s cure. What it is and how to get it tops the query for health-conscious patients. Oftentimes, the more natural, the better—whether it’s the nutrients we ingest or the environments we’re exposed to. One of the many wonders of nature, CBD (scientifically known as cannabidiol) is a fruit of life that can’t be overlooked. Nature's remedy CBD oil is extracted from the cannabis plant, which has a long history dating back to as early as 3,000 B.C.

A key remedy in the alternative medicine toolkit, natural organic CBD oil provides a real medical treatment for the conditions and ailments you live with each and every day. An ever-expanding body of real-world examples, holistic literature and scientific research highlight the ability of cannabis oil to balance the mind and body and help people achieve a healthier and more enjoyable lifestyle. CBD mixed with essential oils (such as coconut oil) seems a match made in heaven.

Basics of CBD

A silent but potent regulator of the body, CBD is fundamentally different than the popular psychoactive cannabinoid tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). CBD is an organic, non-intoxicating cannabinoid that has the unique ability to activate and connect CB1 and CB2 receptors in the cells throughout our body’s (quite spectacular) endocannabinoid system. This system is closely tied to self-regulating processes that help maintain the balance of our complex biological functions.

THC Side Effects

While THC side effects are known to make you feel “high”, euphoric and/or calm depending on the strain, intake amount, and your body’s chemical composition, pure CBD oil doesn’t have mind-altering effects. Instead, the CBD compound influences natural molecular and physiological processes by acting as a chemical messenger.

Naturally occurring CBD is commonly extracted from the resins of cannabis plants. Today, CBD oil tincture is becoming more and more commonplace because of its remarkable history in ameliorating anxiety, stress, chronic pain, insomnia, seizures, epilepsy, PTSD, Parkinson’s Disease, Crohn’s disease, cancer, HIV, diabetes, and a number of other long term medical conditions.

How CBD Oil Works

Quality CBD oil helps to improve the regulation of temperature and PH in the body. It also plays a direct role in motor coordination, neural protection, pain control, appetite, and mood among other processes. So how does it work? Through neurotransmitters called endocannabinoids that bind our body’s natural cannabinoid receptor proteins. These CB1 and CB2 receptors are of a class of cell membrane receptors that are not only expressed in our endocrine and immune systems. They also influence the brain and the rest of the central nervous system (CNS).

When CBD oil enters the body after passing the blood-brain barrier, an incredibly selective passageway responsible for protecting the brain, our endocannabinoids go to work regulating, harmonizing, and maintaining the performance of some of the body’s most important processes.

Difference Between CBD Extract & CBD Isolate

The two most common types of CBD oil are full-spectrum/whole-plant CBD extract and pure CBD isolate. Full-spectrum cannabis CBD extract may be a better remedy than pure CBD isolate for certain people looking at CBD oil for sale. While this isn’t the case for all cannabis oil users, the benefits of CBD extract can certainly be seen in people with epilepsy and other disabilities that rely on CBD oil as a therapeutic medicine. While CBD isolates only contains CBD, full-plant CBD extract is made up of CBD, THC, and more than a hundred cannabinoids and organic components in the complex cannabis plant. Products often come with certificates of analysis to quantify the isolates.

Cannabinoid-Terpene Synergy - The Entourage Effect

Because of the synergy between cannabinoids and the fragrant terpenes found in the plant, full-spectrum CBD extract has been known to create an “entourage effect” that can enhance the healing capability of both of these cannabis oil components. However, pure CBD isolate is still frequently used and considered by some to be more powerful than whole-plant CBD concentrate. In fact, many people argue that compared to MCT oil or THC, which is found in full-spectrum CBD extract, a pure CBD concentrate may have a much more significant impact on health and longevity.

Cannabis Oil vs. Hemp Oil vs. Hemp Seed Oil

Any carrier oil can be used and not all CBD oil is created equal. That’s why there tends to be widespread confusion regarding the different types of CBD and/or THC-rich cannabis oil, hemp CBD oil, and hemp seed oil. Some of these cannabis oils in the market are broad spectrum CBD isolates, and some are full-plant CBD extract. Some have varying ratios of different cannabis plant components.

Cannabidiol CBD Oil.

You can buy CBD oil containing only cannabidiol (including CBD and Indica/Sativa/hybrid THC) and not any of the other components in the cannabis plant. You can also get CBD that’s entirely made up of the non-psychoactive CBD cannabidiol compound. This kind of cannabis oil wouldn’t contain THC, the more than three dozen different organic aromatic compounds (aka terpenes), and hundreds of other nutrients found in the cannabis plant. Or, you can also get full-plant CBD oil containing the scope of cannabidiols, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants in cannabis, as well as all of the terpenes that make cannabis oil smell and taste amazing.

Hemp Oil.

Full-spectrum hemp oil contains CBD, essential fatty acids, vitamins, minerals, flavonoids, chlorophyll, as well as terpenes and other cannabis-derived Phyto compounds. Hemp oil is from a unique species of Cannabis Sativa. This type of CBD oil is 'THC free' with a very insignificant amount of THC (under 0.3%).

Hemp Seed Oil.

Also known as industrial hemp, the hemp seed oil is from the Cannabis Sativa industrial hemp plant and is rich in omega-6 and omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids, vitamin E, and other nutrients. The hemp seed oil has under 0.3% THC, so it doesn’t get you high. But it does contain high amounts of CBD. The strong fibers in this particular cannabis oil are primarily used to make things like ropes, blankets, lotion, and paper.

CBD Extraction Methods

CBD extraction methods matter and vary depending on industry use (e.g. medical cannabis vs. industrial hemp). That’s because the manner in which industrial hemp extract oil is extracted is usually different from the common extraction processes for cannabinoid-rich CBD oil. Hemp seed oil is only cold-pressed, while cannabis oil can be extracted from cannabis or hemp.  There are many different CBD chemical compound extraction methods. Some common CBD extraction methods used to create CBD oil include CO2 extraction, ethanol, and olive oil.

  • CO₂ Extraction

CO₂ is considered the safest and possibly cleanest CBD extraction method. Our bodies actually naturally produce CO₂. CO₂ CBD extract can either have THC or be completely free of this euphoric-inducing cannabinoid. CO₂ extracts are commonly vaped, dabbed, and used in edibles. Hemp cannabis oil is usually obtained using the supercritical (or subcritical) CO₂ extraction method, which requires pricey equipment, extensive experience, and technical know-how. This CBD extraction method pressurizes carbon dioxide in extremely low temperatures to create a potent CBD isolate that’s free of toxic remnants like chlorophyll, butane, heavy metals, and other solvents. Because of the efficiency and safety of this extraction process, CO₂ CBD extract is likely to take over the market in the near future.

  • Ethanol Extraction.

Cannabis oil for vaping and other marijuana methods can be made using high-grade grain alcohol. This CBD extraction method removes wax in the cannabis plant, which may have some health benefits. But it’s virtually impossible to extract CBDA and THCA crystalline cannabinoids, some of the purest forms of cannabis concentrates, using ethanol.

  • Olive oil extraction.

Did you know olive oil can also be used as an inexpensive way to extract both CBD-rich and THC-dominant cannabis oil? But CBD oil extracted from olive oil has to be kept in a cool, dark place because it’s perishable.

How to Get CBD Oil

There are a variety of specific rules and regulations to get CBD in the United States. In order to get medical-grade CBD oil with/without more than trace amounts of THC, you need to get a Florida marijuana card. A physician-recommendation is required to list you in the Compassionate Use Registry (Medical Marijuana Use Registry). Ordering physicians in the state of Florida also have to be a qualified MMJ doctor and/or physician’s clinic to prescribe CBD oil. Here is a guide to CBD doctors in Florida. Where to Buy CBD

Cannabis oil is now used more than ever after the U.S. Farm Bill was passed in 2018, legalizing industrial hemp farming. Several companies operating under federal hemp legislation are now manufacturing high-quality cannabis oil from plant material. Third-party tested organic hemp for people who’d like to get CBD medicine. Online ordering with free shipping may be available (NuLeaf Naturals is one such company).  Consumers are now savvy and asking if their CBD product has been third party lab tested. As a discerning consumer, having the lab results of lab tests on the product may be necessary.

 CBD Oil from Local Dispensaries

Qualified medical marijuana patients know how and where to buy CBD tincture from their local dispensaries or have it delivered on-site. You can also get CBD concentrate infused in coffee drinks at shops around the country. In the Sunshine State of Florida in particular, qualified patients with a valid medical marijuana card (MMJ) have been allowed to legally get CBD oil online and other cannabis products from state-licensed dispensaries and delivery services since early 2017.

Health Precautions

Of note, many product statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. Grown hemp products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Also, sale to persons under the age of 18 years is void where prohibited by law. Pregnant or nursing patients need to consult with a physician before using hemp-derived CBD oil. Doctor advice should be sought by persons who have a medical condition or use prescription drugs. All medication orders and serving sizes (i.e., mg of CBD) should be subject to the terms conditions printed on their specific packaging labels.
